Flowers for Brentwood homes and families

Downtown Brentwood has restaurants, shops and salons around Oak Street and First Street. For a business delivery, enter the business name with the street address and the hours someone will be there.

Many newer neighborhoods and active adult communities have gates. Include the gate code and the recipient’s phone.

Farms and homes on rural roads can be hard to find. Add short directions and a phone number.

Liberty High School, Heritage High School and local elementary and middle schools receive flowers through their main offices. Include the staff member’s full name and the event time.

Hospitals near Brentwood include Sutter Delta Medical Center at 3901 Lone Tree Way in Antioch and Kaiser Permanente Antioch Medical Center at 4501 Sand Creek Road. Include the patient’s full name and room number if you know it. Our hospital and care facility guide lists the details most hospitals ask for.

For sympathy flowers to a home, give the family name, a phone number and any timing preferences. For a service, include the venue, the deceased’s full name, the service time and an onsite contact. Our funeral and sympathy flower guide explains timing for formal pieces.

Farm town at the edge of the Delta

Bay Miwok people lived here before John Marsh acquired Rancho Los Méganos in 1837. The town is named for Brentwood in Essex, England, Marsh’s ancestral home.

Brentwood’s first post office opened in 1878, and the city incorporated on January 21, 1948. The area is still known for its cherries, corn and peaches.

Brentwood has grown quickly, from about 23,000 people in 2000 to about 64,000 today.

John Marsh and the stone house on Marsh Creek

Long before Brentwood had a downtown, John Marsh ran cattle across Rancho Los Méganos at the foot of Mount Diablo. In the 1850s he hired the architect Thomas Boyd to design a large house of native sandstone with a three-story tower, and it was finished shortly before Marsh died in 1856. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on June 24, 1971. Today it stands in Marsh Creek State Historic Park, where California State Parks and the John Marsh Historic Trust are restoring it to its 1856 appearance. The house isn't open to the public yet, and plans call for exhibits and guided tours once the restoration is done.

In 1910, the trading company Balfour, Guthrie and Co. bought the Marsh ranch and built the Brentwood Hotel at Oak Street and Brentwood Boulevard. The hotel came down in 1967, but farming stayed at the center of Brentwood life for generations.

Cherry season and the Harvest Time farms

Every spring, East County fills up with people coming for the fruit. Cherry U-pick season usually opens in May and runs into early June, followed by peaches, nectarines and other summer crops. Harvest Time in Brentwood publishes a farm map and a list of which farms are open each week, with dozens of farms along the route. On busy weekends, the roads out to the orchards slow down, so farm deliveries go best with a phone number and the farm stand name.

Fruit season is a nice time to send a bright mixed bouquet or a basket of seasonal flowers to someone in Brentwood. If the recipient lives off a country road, add the cross street or a landmark, like a farm stand or a gate color, so our driver can find the driveway. A note about a locked gate or a friendly dog helps too.

Downtown, the Delta Theater and the Civic Center

Brentwood's downtown has kept its small-town scale. The historic Delta Theater still stands downtown, and the restaurants and salons around Oak and First Streets stay busy on weekend evenings. The city opened its Civic Center in 2012, with City Hall and a 32,000-square-foot community center, and a new 20,000-square-foot library followed in 2018. Each late August, the Art, Wine and Jazz Festival brings crowds downtown, so we plan around street closures on festival days.

On Sand Creek Road, The Streets of Brentwood opened in 2008 as an outdoor shopping center. For a delivery to a shop there, enter the store name and suite, and the hours someone will be at the counter.

Trilogy, graduations and Brentwood families

Trilogy at the Vineyards is an active adult community, and its clubhouse, Club Los Meganos, opened in 2010. For a delivery there, include the gate code and the recipient's phone number. For graduations at Liberty, Heritage or Independence High School, order a day or two early and tell us whether the flowers go to the school, the ceremony venue or the family home.

For sympathy flowers in Brentwood, we can deliver a standing spray to the service on our early route and send a smaller arrangement to the family home the same afternoon. Give us the service time, the venue and a family contact, and we will handle the timing.
