Two Oakland districts that have been on our route since 1982

Dimond and Laurel sit close together along MacArthur Boulevard, yet each has its own rhythm. Our drivers carry birthday flowers to homes above Sausal Creek, cheerful arrangements to Laurel Village businesses, sympathy pieces to churches near High Street and thoughtful gifts to schools and family addresses around Fruitvale Avenue. Order by 1 PM for same-day delivery. A complete street address, recipient phone number, apartment or suite and any gate note make the final handoff easier.

The streets rise quickly from the commercial corridors. A delivery near Dimond Park may be a level front porch, while an address toward Lincoln Highlands or Redwood Heights can involve a steeper drive, stairs or a tucked-away entrance. Laurel shops often receive through the front counter; professional offices may prefer a named receptionist. Tell us the destination type and timing, and we will prepare the flowers for the route rather than treating every stop the same.

These neighborhoods call for flowers across the calendar: welcoming a new neighbor, marking a retirement, celebrating a school performance, remembering someone at a church service or sending color to a friend recovering at home. We design each piece by hand and transport it upright with water support, then our local driver completes the delivery with the details you provide.

Delivery details for MacArthur Boulevard and the hills

For a home, include the unit, call-box name, gate code and safest entrance. Businesses along MacArthur Boulevard, Fruitvale Avenue and the Laurel commercial strip should include the shop or office name, suite and receiving hours. Schools need the main office and the recipient's full name; churches need the congregation, service time and an on-site contact. Highland Hospital is nearby rather than inside these districts, so a patient order should name the facility exactly and include the legal patient name and room information the family has confirmed.

Some 94619 addresses extend beyond Laurel, and some 94602 routes cross neighborhood lines. The full address matters more than the ZIP alone. Hillside stops are easiest when we know about a narrow driveway, exterior stairs, a locked gate or limited curb space before the driver arrives. If the recipient will be away, add a reachable phone number instead of requesting an unattended placement that weather or foot traffic could affect.

Useful details before checkout

  • Order by 1 PM for same-day delivery availability.
  • Include unit, gate, call-box and recipient phone information.
  • Name the school office, church or business receiving the flowers.
  • Share a service or event time when timing is important.
  • For hillside homes, note stairs, steep drives and safe access.

Where we deliver in Dimond and Laurel

From family homes to neighborhood institutions, good destination information protects the design and helps the driver find the right person.

Homes and apartments

Include the complete address, unit, entry instructions and recipient phone. For elevated streets or rear cottages, identify the usable entrance and any stairs.

Shops and offices

Along MacArthur Boulevard, Fruitvale Avenue and Laurel Village, give the business name, suite, receiving hours and staff contact. A recipient's employer alone may not identify the correct door.

Schools and libraries

Send school deliveries to the main office with the student or staff member's full name. For Dimond Branch Library or community programs, confirm that a staff member can accept the arrangement.

Churches and services

Name the congregation, event date, service time and receiving contact. For a memorial, state whether the flowers are for the sanctuary, fellowship space or family.

Care and medical destinations

For senior residences, provide the community name, resident name and room or wing when known. Highland Hospital orders require the exact campus and current patient-delivery information.

Parks and gatherings

Dimond Park and outdoor meeting points do not provide a guaranteed unattended handoff. Use a nearby address or arrange for a named recipient to meet the driver.

From Hugh Dimond's land to two neighborhood main streets

The Dimond name comes from Hugh Dimond, an Irish immigrant who reached California during the Gold Rush era and later acquired land along Sausal Creek. The Dimond family property stood near the junction that became Fruitvale Avenue and MacArthur Boulevard. Oakland's official and library histories trace the district's growth around that crossing, where streetcar travel and local commerce helped turn a rural edge into a neighborhood center.

A 1910 photograph from the Oakland History Center looks west along Hopkins Street, the road now called MacArthur Boulevard, into the Dimond commercial district. The image preserves shopfronts, street activity and the Altenheim in the distance. Dimond Park now follows Sausal Creek nearby, joining recreation fields, trails and the Dimond Recreation Center to a waterway that shaped the landscape long before the modern street grid.

Laurel developed farther east along MacArthur Boulevard and became a compact shopping district for surrounding residential streets. The gateway arch marks the neighborhood's commercial spine, while Laurel Village businesses continue toward High Street. The two districts share routes, schools and everyday errands, but they are not interchangeable: Dimond centers on Fruitvale Avenue and the park; Laurel climbs eastward around its own MacArthur corridor.

That geography matters to flower delivery. A driver may leave a ground-floor shop, turn onto a quiet residential block and then climb toward a home with stairs and a view, all within a short distance. Addresses, access details and a recipient phone number help us plan those changes without rushing the flowers.

Dimond & Laurel flower delivery questions

Can you deliver to hillside homes above Dimond and Laurel?

Yes. Include the full address, recipient phone and notes about steep driveways, stairs, gates or the preferred entrance so the driver can plan a safe handoff.

Do you deliver to shops on MacArthur Boulevard?

Yes. Add the business name, suite if applicable, receiving hours and the recipient or staff contact who can accept the flowers.

Can flowers be delivered to Dimond Park?

An outdoor park does not guarantee a secure drop. Arrange for a named person to meet the driver at a specific nearby address or clearly identified entrance and provide a working phone number.

How should I address flowers for a neighborhood school?

Use the school's full name, main-office address and the recipient's full name. The office can apply its own visitor and student-delivery procedures.

Do you deliver sympathy flowers to churches in these districts?

Yes. Provide the church name, service date and time, family name and an on-site contact. Say whether the design is intended for the sanctuary, reception or family.

What is the same-day cutoff for Dimond and Laurel?

Order by 1 PM Pacific Time for same-day availability. Earlier orders give us more room to coordinate timed services, schools, businesses and hillside access.
