Flowers for San Ramon homes, offices and hospitals

San Ramon Regional Medical Center at 6001 Norris Canyon Road is the city’s hospital. Include the patient’s full name and room number if you know it. Our hospital and care facility guide lists the details most hospitals ask for.

Bishop Ranch is one of the largest office parks in the Bay Area. For an office delivery, include the company name, the building, the floor and the recipient’s full name. Most campuses route deliveries through a lobby desk.

City Center Bishop Ranch has shops, restaurants and a theater. For a business delivery, enter the business name with the street address and the hours someone will be there.

Dougherty Valley and other neighborhoods have homes and townhomes, some behind gates. Include any gate code and the recipient’s phone.

California High School, Dougherty Valley High School and local elementary and middle schools receive flowers through their main offices. Include the staff member’s full name and the event time.

For sympathy flowers to a home, give the family name, a phone number and any timing preferences. For a service, include the venue, the deceased’s full name, the service time and an onsite contact. Our funeral and sympathy flower guide explains timing for formal pieces.

Named for a vaquero

José María Amador received the land grant here in 1834. He named it San Ramón after a Native American vaquero who tended the mission’s sheep on the land.

San Ramon incorporated on July 1, 1983, and has grown from about 22,000 people in 1980 to about 84,600 today.

City Center Bishop Ranch, designed by Renzo Piano Building Workshop, opened on November 8, 2018.

From mission pasture to the Iron Horse

The Seunen people lived in this valley long before the Spanish arrived. Around 1797 Mission San José took over the land for grazing, and it later became part of Rancho San Ramon. The name became official in 1873. The Southern Pacific railroad reached the valley in 1891, and a short-lived electric railway also ran here from 1914 to 1924. When the Southern Pacific line was finally abandoned, its route became the Iron Horse Regional Trail, which now carries walkers, runners and cyclists through the middle of town.

The Tassajara School House at 1650 Finley Road dates to 1889 and is now owned and cared for by the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District.

Forest Home Farms Historic Park

At the base of the Dougherty Hills, Forest Home Farms Historic Park keeps San Ramon's farming past alive. Travis and Ruth Boone left their family farm to the city in 1997, and the 16-acre site at 19953 San Ramon Valley Boulevard was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 28, 2002. The 22-room Dutch colonial Boone House was built in 1900, and the grounds include 14 outbuildings, among them an 1850s barn and a three-building walnut processing plant. The Victorian David Glass House, built in 1877, was moved to the park from Lora Nita Farm.

The park is open on weekdays and runs Farm Life and Victorian Life programs for school groups. For an event or a tour there, give us the group name, the time and a contact, and we will deliver before the guests arrive.

Bishop Ranch and the corporate campuses

Bishop Ranch, a master-planned office park, is a major part of San Ramon's tax base. Chevron made Bishop Ranch its corporate headquarters in 2001, and the park also became home to AT&T's West Coast headquarters. Pacific Gas and Electric and San Ramon Regional Medical Center are also among the city's largest employers.

For flowers to an employee on one of these campuses, include the company name, the building and floor, the recipient's full name and a phone number. A promotion, a work anniversary or a retirement is a great reason to send something to the office, and ordering early in the day gives the front desk time to reach the recipient.

Parks, festivals and San Ramon families

San Ramon has grown fast, from incorporation in 1983 to the fourth-largest city in Contra Costa County. Its population grew about 17 percent between 2010 and 2020, and about half of residents are Asian American. The city has 58 parks and hosts the Art and Wind Festival and the Run for Education each year. The San Ramon Valley Unified School District serves about 31,000 students, and the nearest BART station is about six miles away.

For graduations at California High School or Dougherty Valley High School, order a day or two ahead and tell us whether the flowers go to the school, the ceremony venue or the family home. For a funeral or memorial, give us the service time, the church or funeral home and a family contact. Formal pieces go out on our morning route, and a vase arrangement or plant can follow to the family's home.
