Flowers for Twin Peaks and Diamond Heights

The streets around Twin Peaks curve along the hillside, and many homes sit above a garage or at the top of a stair. Include the unit, gate or bell details and the recipient’s phone, and tell us which entrance is used day to day.

The Twin Peaks summit and Christmas Tree Point are open park land with no addresses. Flowers for an outing there should go to a home or to a person who can meet the driver at a clear meeting point.

The Diamond Heights Shopping Center on Diamond Heights Boulevard is the neighborhood’s main place for errands. For a business delivery, enter the business name with the street address and the hours someone will be there.

Diamond Heights has many apartment and condominium complexes with their own driveways, gates and call boxes. Give the complex name, building and unit, plus the recipient’s phone.

For hospital and care deliveries, include the patient’s or resident’s full name and room or unit if you know it. Laguna Honda Hospital and Rehabilitation Center is nearby at 375 Laguna Honda Boulevard. Our hospital and care facility guide lists the details most facilities ask for.

Wind and fog can be strong on the hilltops. A compact arrangement in a sturdy container holds up better than a tall, open design if it has to wait at a door.

For sympathy flowers to a home, give the family name, a phone number and any timing preferences. For a service at a church, hall or funeral home, include the venue, the deceased’s full name, the service time and an onsite contact. Our funeral and sympathy flower guide explains timing for formal pieces.

The city’s central peaks and a planned hilltop neighborhood

At about 925 feet, the two peaks of Twin Peaks are the second- and third-highest natural points in San Francisco. Christmas Tree Point, just below the north peak, offers one of the widest views of the city and the bay.

The peaks also shape the weather. They act as a barrier to summer fog, which is why neighborhoods to the east are often sunnier than those to the west.

Diamond Heights was built through a city redevelopment project that ran from 1948 to 1978, with the final plan approved in 1955. A wood-frame house from 1895 on Gold Mine Drive survived the redevelopment and is a reminder of the hill’s earlier days.

Plan a thoughtful neighborhood delivery

Choose the flowers, then add the exact address, unit, cross street and phone number that make a hillside or gated-complex handoff easy. For businesses, schools and care settings, include the recipient’s name and the hours someone can receive them, so the arrangement is not left at a closed door.
