The answers below explain how BloomFresh handles ordering, delivery, floral design, special delivery locations, holidays, flower care, and pet safety. When a situation is unusual or time-sensitive, calling us directly is usually the fastest way to determine how we can help.
Yes. BloomFresh offers same-day floral delivery for any occasion when we receive the order by 1:00 p.m. in the recipient’s local delivery area.
If it is already past 1:00 p.m., please call us rather than placing the order online. We can move much faster when we speak with you directly. We cannot guarantee that a late order can still be delivered that day, but we will do everything reasonably possible to pull it off.
For additional details, please review our Delivery Information.
BloomFresh cannot guarantee a specific delivery time except for scheduled, time-sensitive funeral and sympathy services, including visitations, celebrations of life, funeral services, graveside services, and similar occasions.
You may request morning or afternoon delivery, and we will do our absolute best to prioritize that preference. However, an AM or PM request is not a guaranteed delivery time.
Funeral and memorial services receive priority because their scheduled times are unavoidable and time-sensitive.
Please provide as much complete and accurate information as possible, including:
The requested delivery date
The occasion
The recipient’s full name
The complete delivery address
The recipient’s cell phone number
The type of delivery location
The location might be a residence, business, funeral home, hospital, care facility, school, gated community, or another type of location.
Knowing the occasion and the location type helps us plan the delivery correctly and avoid unnecessary delays.
This certainly happens. Most recipients have no idea that flowers are being sent to them. That is part of the surprise, but it can occasionally make delivery challenging.
We have been delivering flowers for a long time, and we have several ways of handling these situations. Depending on the circumstances, we may:
Call or text the recipient to let them know a delivery is on the way
Leave the arrangement in a safe, covered location when weather and other conditions permit
Notify the recipient of exactly where the flowers were left
Leave the arrangement with a trusted next-door neighbor and notify the recipient
Leave a door tag and return later
Contact the sender for additional information
Every delivery situation is different. The final decision is made by the driver based on safety, weather, access, and the need to protect the freshness, quality, and value of the floral gift.
Rest assured, we make every reasonable effort to complete the delivery on the requested day unless circumstances make it impossible.
No. Your arrangement will not be an exact duplicate of the photograph.
It may have similarities, including the general color palette, flower types, style, shape, or overall feeling of the design you selected. However, our photographs are intended as design inspiration, not duplication.
Fresh flowers are natural, seasonal products, and availability changes. Our designers may make artistic substitutions involving flowers, colors, design elements, or containers while remaining as close as reasonably possible to the intended style and occasion.
We always protect the value you purchased. A designer may adjust colors or other elements when doing so will create a fresher, more beautiful arrangement and better protect your value. The final artistic interpretation belongs to the floral designer, who will use professional judgment and the freshest available flowers.
Containers and vases shown in photographs are not guaranteed. We often favor vase designs because flowers remain directly hydrated in water. Basket arrangements generally rely on floral foam and may require different care.
This is the reality whenever flowers are ordered online using a photograph. We design; we do not duplicate.
Please review the complete BloomFresh Substitution Policy for additional information.
Yes, you can make specific requests, but your best option is to call us before ordering.
Requests for exact flowers, colors, styles, or custom arrangements can be difficult to communicate through an online order. By speaking directly with one of our floral designers, we can explain what is available and determine whether your request is possible.
Calling gives you the best chance of receiving the custom design you have in mind. You may also contact BloomFresh with questions about a special request.
Absolutely. BloomFresh delivers flowers and gifts to many types of hospitals, rehabilitation centers, nursing facilities, assisted living communities, retirement facilities, and other care environments.
Please provide all the patient and facility information you have. We may contact the facility to verify the information before attempting delivery.
Room numbers are helpful, but they are not always current because patients may be transferred to another room or department.
The days of florists routinely walking directly into hospital rooms are largely over. Hospital deliveries are generally accepted at the front desk or another designated receiving area and then brought to the patient by a hospital employee or volunteer.
Please review our complete Hospital & Care Facility Guide before placing a hospital or care-facility order.
Yes, of course.
BloomFresh delivers a wide variety of sympathy arrangements, funeral flowers, service arrangements, standing sprays, wreaths, baskets, plants, and flowers for the family’s home.
Funeral and sympathy work is one of our specialties. We understand that these occasions are emotional and often time-sensitive, and we will help you select something appropriate for the service, the family, and your relationship with the person being remembered.
Call us immediately if you need to change or cancel an order.
Once an order is placed, it begins processing. If the order has not entered design, has not been completed, and has not been loaded onto a delivery vehicle or sent out for delivery, we will do our best to help.
However, changes and cancellations are not guaranteed.
This is especially important during major floral holidays, when flowers, staffing, orders, and delivery routes are planned in advance. Please review your order carefully before submitting it.
Simply call us during regular business hours.
Calling is usually the fastest way to reach us when something requires immediate attention. We cannot address a concern we do not know about, and we genuinely want the opportunity to help and make things right whenever reasonably possible.
You may also use our Contact BloomFresh page for a matter that does not require immediate attention.
Yes. It is very important that the person receiving the flowers knows exactly who sent them.
We understand that some people like the mystery of signing a card “Secret Admirer,” “You Know Who,” or leaving the card unsigned. However, in today’s world, receiving an anonymous floral delivery can frighten or seriously concern the recipient.
For that reason, BloomFresh does not allow unsigned or ambiguously signed enclosure cards.
If an order is placed without a clear signature, we will identify the sender on the enclosure card using the sender’s name provided with the order.
This policy helps protect the recipient, avoids unnecessary concern, and prevents unwanted flower-delivery drama.
BloomFresh generally does not provide regular Sunday delivery.
However, if you have a specific need—especially for a funeral, visitation, memorial, or another time-sensitive occasion—please call us. We will review the situation and determine whether there is a reasonable way we can help.
Do not assume Sunday delivery is available without speaking with us directly.
BloomFresh delivers throughout the major floral holiday seasons, but delivery may not always occur on the exact calendar day of the holiday.
For Valentine’s Day, delivery routes can fill quickly, and florists may run short of certain flowers and products. Ordering early is always the best approach.
Mother’s Day orders should preferably be placed during the week before the holiday. Many Mother’s Day deliveries are completed on the Thursday, Friday, or Saturday before Mother’s Day.
Christmas is more of a holiday season than a single delivery day. BloomFresh delivers throughout the Christmas season, but we are closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
For questions about a particular holiday or requested date, please call us.
Yes. BloomFresh delivers to businesses and schools, but these locations require accurate information and careful timing.
Business deliveries are generally completed during standard business hours, approximately 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
School deliveries need to be ordered early because many schools dismiss students and staff between approximately 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
BloomFresh does not deliver flowers or gifts directly to K–12 students. Schools have strict security procedures designed to protect their students, and most schools no longer permit deliveries to students.
Deliveries to teachers, administrators, office personnel, and other on-site staff members are a different matter. BloomFresh can deliver to a staff member when the school permits it.
Keep in mind that security is now tight at nearly every school location. Deliveries generally must be accepted through the main office, security desk, or another authorized receiving area.
For a school staff member, please provide the recipient’s full name, school name, position or department when known, cell phone number, and the school’s operating hours.
Truly fresh flowers can be enjoyed just as they are received.
Place the arrangement in a cool, comfortable location where it can be admired and enjoyed. Avoid heaters, direct sources of heat, excessive humidity, and harsh direct sunlight.
After approximately four or five days, you may be able to extend the life of the flowers by:
Carefully removing the flowers from the vase
Recutting the bottoms of the stems under running water
Cleaning the container
Replacing the old water with fresh tap water
Returning the flower stems to the fresh water
This simple care can help the flowers remain fresh and enjoyable for several additional days.
Some flowers and plants can cause adverse reactions in dogs and cats.
If cats live in the recipient’s home, please tell us when placing the order. BloomFresh does not recommend sending lilies into a home with cats because certain lilies can be extremely dangerous to curious felines and are not worth the risk.
Other flowers and plants may also be harmful to dogs or cats if chewed or eaten.
The safest approach is to keep floral arrangements and plants out of the reach of pets and discourage animals from chewing flowers, leaves, stems, soil, containers, ribbons, or decorative materials.
When pet safety is a concern, call us before ordering so we can discuss the most appropriate available choices. If a pet may have chewed or ingested part of a flower or plant, contact a veterinarian promptly.
